I have been looking for ways to share my faith with others effectively for some time.I have often made attemps to do so and people laugh or ignore me.I've gone out of my way to be nice to people in hopes that they may see God in me and Ive been called gullable and nieve.I am so elated that God has sent me to this sight,I have found it to be very informative and helpful.

Thanks for the great suggestions! I echo Paul's comment that it's very important to do everything with integrity and be authentic in your communications. I ponder every post that has to do with my faith and sometimes even stop and pray about whether or not to post something that conveys the Gospel message. Even when I'm sharing something from the heart, I don't want it to go over as trite or too "religious" to all my FB friends that are not walking with God. From unsaved family members, to high school friends, to business colleagues, I think we all need to carefully weigh each post in light of the Great Commission and be salt and light in loving, yet tangible ways.

<a href="http://www.ultimatetube.com" rel="nofollow"> are using facebook with pages and groups which has great potentials to evangelism. I have seen many other online christian sites in the same way.
Oh yes, facebook is all about building relationships and you are sure life will preach the gospel to your friends.

The last point about Facebook is huge. You can't go into Facebook with the mindset that you're going to "use" it for evangelism. Go in with the goal of building relationships. If you live out your faith, that will come through in the updates, pictures, and links you post.

Bummed that I just heard about the online missions trip now. I don't know what all was involved with it, but it would be cool if Tim were to kick off another one on IED.

BTW, the link to the reaching the online generation site is not working.

This is a great recommendation. It's so valuable to have an awareness of what is on the hearts and minds of the people we're trying to serve. Google offers a number of great tools for free, we need to take advantage of this.

I think the church (<i>not all churches, but most</i>) are missing a great opportunity to engage people through these means like search engines. I actually just wrote a blog post on this yesterday after someone found my blog through a Google search for "ministry opportunities for 59 year olds". (<a href="http://www.kingdomstrategist.com/ministry-opportunities-for-59-year-olds/" title="Kingdom Strategist - Creative strategies in service of the kingdom of God." rel="nofollow">Click here to read the post.</a>) Turns out I ranked #2 for that search phrase and was the only "Christian" resource that showed up on page 1.

The truth is that people turn to the Internet for answers long before they turn to friends or their pastor. I'm greatly encouraged that sites like Internet Evangelism Day are equipping individuals and churches to intersect with people in this way.

This looks interesting. Now to understand what words to check out. Can you give Google categories and have them give you the search terms?
