E-books for church ministry

Big is Busted COVER

What is it like to visit a church for the first time as an outsider? Bob Franquiz is a pastor who had never visited a synagogue before. He applies his experience to helping first-time visitors, both on a church website and when they arrive, in this useful 6-page PDF e-book:
How to Think Like an Unchurched Person. (Bob sells other e-books, but also has more free stuff here.)

And Yvon Prehn is offering a free 23-page PDF e-book:
Big is busted; try tiny: “discover a new way to plan , measure, and evaluate church communications.” Yvon has other free resources to view or download – check the left-hand margin at EffectiveChurch.com, and the Easter-related materials in the right margin (including the Jelly Bean prayer for children).

Check our other church ministry book recommendations including two more free e-books, and follow the links to reviews in other categories – each also contains at least one free e-book. Please join our Free E-books Facebook fan page.

What about AdWords?

And on the related topic of church websites, do consider Google AdWords as an extra way of drawing in visitors. You can set up yoru account so that you only target people in your own town. Use imaginative words that relate to life problems or other topics, rather then ‘churches in Myville’ – after all, if you have done your site search engine optimization properly, you should already be showing up in the normal search results for this. You may wish to make the AdWord link take visitors to an appropriate internal ‘landing page’ rather than the church homepage.

AdWords offer a range of tools to help you understand the options available, and these are being extended – as church webmaster Brent Purves explains here.
